Salary: Level 2, $1,284.80 - $1,302.60 per week (pro-rata) (GS (Misc.) GA 2025)
This is a permanent part-time (0.75 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible
Located in the Ashburton Shire of the Pilbara, Paraburdoo Primary School caters for approximately 150 to 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are on Yinhawangka country and strongly promote cultural awareness and respect. Being the only school in town, enrolments fluctuate depending on the strength of the mining industry. As a multicultural community, we welcome families from around Australia and neighbouring countries.
Responsibilities
As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will be responsible for maintaining and presenting our school grounds in an attractive, clean and tidy manner. The successful applicant will be tasked with gardening duties, grounds and facility management and various other duties as outlined in the attached Job Description Form, to ensure a safe, vibrant and clean school environment.
The Gardener - Handyperson will work as part of a team providing gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining and providing a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson's duties using safe work practices and in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should ideally possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals. Experience in servicing gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks is desirable.
