Description:
Purpose of the Position: Teachers at SPCC are responsible for teaching and ministering in their gifts, providing children and young people with an excellent, holistic education embedded in Christian values, in collaboration with the school executive, while adhering to Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, syllabus requirements, policies, and the College's mission and values.
Responsibilities:
* Pray for students.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver effective teaching programs aligned with Biblical principles, sound doctrine, current educational research, and the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, including team planning and teaching.
* Support students' spiritual, physical, social, and emotional well-being by fostering respectful relationships.
* Assess and record student progress, providing timely feedback and engaging students actively in learning.
* Communicate student progress with parents and stakeholders professionally and promptly.
* Use assessment data to inform teaching practices.
* Create supportive learning environments and manage behaviour effectively.
* Maintain accurate attendance records.
* Identify and manage risks in learning activities in accordance with policies and WHS regulations.
* Provide lesson plans to colleagues for continuity during absences.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Active involvement in a local evangelical Christian church.
* Relevant teaching qualifications.
* Understanding of Christian schooling and the role of Christian teachers.
* Experience teaching Year 7-12 Mathematics.
* Ability to employ diverse teaching strategies tailored to students' needs.
* Proven partnership skills with parents.
* Current Working with Children Check.
