 
        
        The role 
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a kitchen assistant to join our Catering team located in our Melbourne office on a full time basis. Flexibility in hours will be required from time to time (after hours functions - breakfasts and dinners). 
Working with the Executive Chef, in this role you will utilize your passion for food to produce a variety of food options (formal and informal) for our staff and corporate clients. 
Key responsibilities include: 
Assist in the preparation of food for : 
Client functions and events; 
Staff events, including morning and afternoon teas; 
Working lunches; and 
Our on-site café. 
Dishwashing and ensuring timely clean up of equipment. 
Ensure food preparation areas and associated equipment meet appropriate standards of cleanliness. 
Comply with all Melbourne City Council health requirements. 
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. 
Skills & Experience 
To be successful in this role, you will have: 
Relevant food safety qualifications and min 2 years full time experience in a kitchen 
Experience in corporate kitchens would be highly regarded; 
Passion for producing high quality food; 
Solid work ethic and an ability to remain calm under pressure; 
Excellent team work skills; 
Solid attention to detail; 
Unwavering adherence to and enforcement of health and hygiene standards; and 
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
