Job description
Are you passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families? Do you have experience with personal care, including using hoists and other care equipment? We would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities of the role include:
* Supporting the participant with their needs including personal care
* Encouraging involvement within the community
* Assisting participants to achieve their goals (e.g. getting more involved in community activities, learning life skills, trying new things, etc.)
About You
* Interest supporting individuals with disabilities
* Ability to work positively with people with a disability to achieve their goals
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Proactive, quick to respond, and focused on achieving outcomes
* Ability to work flexible hours including morning, evenings, weekends and public holidays
* Demonstrated experience with personal care, medications, hoists & manual handling
* Experience working with people who use behaviours of concern within identified Behaviour Intervention plans (preferred but not essential)
Essential Requirements
* Current driver's licence with registered, insured, and reliable vehicle
* Smart phone
* Current CPR & First Aid
* Working With Children Check (Paid)
* NDISWC (ask the office if you are unsure)
* Current Police check
* Completed NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission Module.
