Aviation Emergency Response Officer

Woods & Co have partnered with a global leader in airline and airport catering services to strengthen operational resilience across Australia’s major airports. This critical role ensures emergency response and business continuity capabilities are robust across nine strategic airport sites, safeguarding the smooth delivery of services to airlines and passengers nationwide.

We are seeking a decisive, operationally minded Aviation Emergency Response Officer who will work closely with internal teams, airport authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure emergency preparedness, continuity planning, and operational excellence across Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane.


Base Pay Range

A$70.00/hr – A$80.00/hr

What you'll do?

* Review and analyse existing Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) in line with recent operational disruptions or weather events.
* Conduct port‑specific risk assessments across major Australian ports, developing site‑specific BCPs with clear operational constraints.
* Develop and maintain continuity plans for each port, including holding locations and alternative operational facilities.
* Test and simulate BCPs through realistic scenario exercises, evaluate performance, and provide actionable recommendations.
* Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including training materials, reports, and emergency response plans.
* Provide updates and recommendations to key business stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with all government‑mandated safety, security, and emergency regulations.
* Develop and deliver training programs aligned with business continuity and emergency response frameworks.


What you need?

* Proven experience in Business Continuity Planning and managing multi‑site projects.
* Background in aviation or emergency services is highly preferred.
* Technical skills in Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessment, and Plan Development.
* Bachelor’s Degree in CBCP, MBCP or CBCI (highly desirable).
* Availability to travel interstate throughout the 6‑month contract.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
