About the roles
We are seeking both Personal & Domestic Care Assistants who are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.
As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will be:
* Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, toileting, bathing, grooming and other ADL activities
* Assisting clients with mobility and transfers, along with other activities to help maintain an independent lifestyle
* Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the clients’ care plans
* Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
* Recognising and responding to change in a client's condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
* Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence
As a Domestic Care Assistant (DCA), you will be:
* Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the client's care plan i.e.
* Assisting our clients with food preparation and cooking of meals
* Shopping for basic groceries on behalf of the client where requested
* Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
* Ensuring the client's home is hygienic and a safe environment that supports the promotion of independence
* Recognising and responding to changes in a clients’ condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
Other things you might like to know:
* Shortlisted candidates may be invited to take part in a group interview session as part of the selection process
* PCA hourly rate: $34.59 p/h + 25% casual loading
* DCA hourly rate: $31.13 - $32.86 p/h + 25% casual loading
* You will be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered
About you:
These positions are best suited to someone who has:
* PCA ONLY: Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e. Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
* PCA ONLY: Preferably 12 months experience working in the Home Care sector, particularly with Home Care Packages and CHSP funded care services
* Willingness to embrace domestic / housekeeping duties as part of your role. It is preferable for you to have experience in professional cleaning duties, but not mandatory
* Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
* Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness.
