The role of this position involves providing technical assistance in the following areas:
Developing and reviewing high-level designs, solution positioning, product selection;
Providing technical support for product demos, proof-of-concept setups, training workshops, and thought leadership activities;
Conducting on-site installations, servicing, and repairs of complex systems and equipment;
Evaluating operational quality of equipment, instructing customers in operation and maintenance of systems, serving as a technical liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects, and interpreting customer needs.
You Will Make an Impact by:
* Providing product and technical support to external and internal customers as a contributing team member;
* Providing pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions for CommScope product lines, including modifying product applications to meet customer network configurations;
* Providing technical assistance through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installations, and maintenance of CommScope products;
* Providing product and application training to customers;
* Providing post-sales technical expertise during installation, implementation, testing, and maintenance of CommScope products;
* Providing engineering support for the introduction of new products, consulting with customers to determine and document requirements, developing product specifications, and working with product managers on the development of fit-for-purpose products;
* Providing innovative ideas, customer perspectives, and research into product developments, staying involved in the process from concept through design through execution, actively participating in market introduction and penetration strategies.
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
* A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer Science, or an appropriate field, or local equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of experience;
* Possession of current industry technical certification (BICSI RCDD, BICSI DCDC, BICSI OSP, FTTH) is preferred;
* Computer and office skills required (MS Office, Windows Unix OS, Web programming and Database, Visio or CAD Drawing);
* Knowledge of and experience with test equipment, including Optical Time Domain Reflectometers, Optical Power Meters and Sources, and multimeters, are strongly preferred;
* Previous OSP engineering and post-sales OSP experience;
* Previous experience/knowledge of FTTx network design;
* Understanding of Transport Technology and the network (T1, T3, SONET, and IP), including the knowledge required to design equipment into these networks, is preferred;
* Some experience with troubleshooting skills of Transport Technologies, including a background understanding of test sets to troubleshoot equipment in a Telecommunication network, is preferred;
* Deal-closing skills to assist the sales force, influencing the outcome of tender responses technically through product expertise combined with strategic thinking in commercial landscapes;
* Ability to create and deliver sales and training presentations with confidence and customer-facing skills;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain relationships;
* Advanced technical skill set and well-developed problem-solving abilities;
* Excellent problem-solving skills are important in this role, drive for results in addressing customer challenges is important;
* Possession of a vehicle and driving license.
