We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Deputy Director of Medical Services.
Job Description
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our clinical leadership team, assisting the Director of Medical Services through deputising as directed, and providing support to the clinical divisions to maintain service provision.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Providing leadership to medical staff at rural hospitals, supporting the Director of Medical Services and Executive Officers to mitigate issues and act as a role model for professional standards.
* Contributing to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of medical services at all facilities, including Clinical Governance, Clinical Risk Management, Morbidity & Mortality Review, and Sentinel Incident Review.
* Managing medico-legal issues, including acceptance and actioning of subpoenas, and liaising with the network insurer to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
* Managing complaints and incidents actively, reviewing complaints related to medical services, and providing reports and required documentation within required timeframes.
* Managing administrative matters associated with appointment procedures for Junior Medical Staff, ensuring compliance with industrial awards, agreements, and policies.
* Providing human resource management through implementing and overseeing efficient processes and systems for induction, staff support, rosters, leave cover, annual/conference leave entitlements, and database management.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A strong background in medical services, with experience in clinical governance, risk management, and complaint handling.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.
You will also require a relevant qualification in a field such as medicine, health administration, or a related discipline.
