BFX Furniture is a proudly Australian owned company specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of education and commercial furniture solutions. Since its establishment in 1987, BFX has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of furniture in Australia. Our company is based in Yandina on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, just two minutes' drive from the exit off the Bruce Highway. We employ people across Australia as we continue to grow. We are a stable and expanding business, providing opportunities for locals to learn and grow with the business.
The role involves:
* Upholstering a variety of commercial and educational furniture items of different shapes and sizes including chairs, sofas and ottomans
* Work with a variety of coverings including fabric and vinyl
* Securely fasten new upholstery fabric to furniture frames
* Use a range of hand and power tools including staple guns and tacks to attach the upholstery to the furniture
* Inspect finished pieces for quality and craftsmanship, making any necessary adjustments or corrections to meet company standards
What do we offer?
We offer life-friendly hours; our early starts help you manage life, so you can pick up the kids from school, run errands, or hit the beach in the afternoon. Our hours are 6am to 2.06pm Monday to Thursday, and 5am to 12.46pm on Fridays. Overtime may be available during the peak periods. We are also flexible for the right person and will consider full or part time. We offer competitive rates based on skills and experience. We are a welcoming company with over 250 employees. Our teams come from many backgrounds, and lots of our employees have been with us over 20 years, with second generation employees common in our business. What do you need?
* Previous upholstery experience
* Ability to complete projects within a timeframe and work to a production schedule
* Great attention to detail
* The ability to measure accurately
* Commitment to produce quality work every day and care about our product
* Safety mindset and the ability to follow operating and safety procedures
* No sewing experience necessary
