Be celebrated and rewarded for the incredible person and employee you are by joining an organisation that shares care and love in the work we do.

The Role

We are looking for a kind, caring and reliable Team Leader to lead our Support Work team located in Maitland and Newcastle. Be rewarded in contributing to empowering our young people and people living with disability offering high quality, holistic support for individuals to build their capacity and achieve their goals both in community access, in home support, and daily living skills support. Your team will also run disability homes, and medium to long term disability/homelessness refuges.

In this role you will be working directly with young people living with complex trauma and psycho-social challenges, as well as people living with disability. You will be responsible for all rostering, supervision, training and support for youth and disability support workers.

You will also be responsible for quality assurance, including review of documentation, assurance of policy and procedures being implemented, and ongoing quality improvement is central to practice.

You will work within the senior leadership team, made up of Director of Finance, Director of HR, General Manager, 2 Clinical Leads, Secretary, and Executive Assistant.

Continuity of care is very important to us, and those we support, as positive and healthy attachment and relationships are formed from consistency in those we work with. In this role, you will be expected to lead from the front within the team and have a hybrid work model of admin shifts in the office (2 per week), and support work shifts (3 per week). You will be able to form strong, professional and healthy attachments with people we support and their families in leading the support work team providing life changing support to those we work alongside.

We are looking for people with strong professional values of care, social justice, creativity, and joy to join our team in providing care, happiness, and supporting independence to those we support. We are looking for individuals who are able to remain calm under stressful situations and be natural problem solvers. We are looking for leaders who place care and support for our team above all else.

You will lead our team of support workers who provide community access support, or in home support to children, young people or people with a disability to help them to achieve their goals and build their independence into the future. This could be mentoring support, developing their living skills, or promoting their skill development to achieve their future goals in home or in community.

You will be responsible for recruitment, supervision, training, ongoing professional development, quality assurance and rostering.

You will have access to ongoing supervision, training, and professional development to capture your professional goals and passions for the future with our specialist leadership team.
