What You'll Be Doing
Step into a dynamic rural nursing role where no two days are the same. As a Registered Nurse at Wee Waa Community Hospital, you'll primarily work in an Emergency Department-style setting, seeing everything from walk-in outpatients to triage presentations. You'll need to think critically, act independently, and make sound clinical judgements.
This is an autonomous, meaningful, and hands-on nursing role for those looking to make a real difference in a tight-knit community. It's ideally suited to nurses with ED experience, triage and/or ALS skills, but ongoing education and support are provided, including visits from a Clinical Nurse Educator based in Gunnedah and additional upskilling opportunities via the HNE Education team and Nursing and Midwifery Directorate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide front-line care in an ED-style environment (including wound care, triage, emergency response)
* Exercise sound clinical and situational judgment without a doctor on site
* Liaise with the virtual ED medical team for patient management
* Support junior staff and contribute to clinical education
* Engage with the local community in a culturally respectful and meaningful way
