**About the role**
A rare opportunity has become available within our Melbourne based People (Human Resources) Team in the role of **People Advisor **for an initial 12 month fixed term contract. Our People Team works closely with the business to deliver all aspects of their business and people plan. We are a practical and pragmatic team that thrive on managing multiple challenges, issues and opportunities in an evolving, fast paced operational environment.
We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to provide expert operational HR advice and support to our Airport Services and Operations Delivery teams. Reporting to the People Manager - Airport Services & Operations Delivery, this is a diverse role that will see you coaching frontline leaders on a range of people matters whilst undertaking a full range of HR activities. This is a true business partner role where you will be challenged by taking full ownership of the demands that come with a dynamic and complex environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing generalist HR activities and supporting the business with general HR enquiries
- Providing timely HR support to our operational and corporate teams based in Australia. Assisting with coaching frontline leaders on a broad range of people matters, including performance feedback, disciplinary processes, attendance management and talent acquisition;
- Providing HR advice aligned to legislation, company policies/procedures and EBAs to a broad and dispersed group of internal stakeholders;
- Assisting with the planning, preparation and roll-out of various initiatives designed to support achievement of the business strategy and objectives including employee engagement activities, people performance and recognition programs and talent management processes;
- Supporting People Manager with the coordination of investigations and resolution of Industrial Relations matters as well as supporting EBA negotiations, as required.;
- Contributing to a range of HR projects and people initiatives.
**About you**
To achieve success in this position, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Solid experience (3-5) years in a HR Advisor/Generalist role
- Sound experience ideally supporting an operational EBA covered client group
- Experience and confidence in providing detailed, best practice HR advice, with the ability to identify when matters need to be escalated as well as balancing the commercial impacts
- Ability to take ownership of the role and be a true business partner to a wide scope of stakeholders
- Sound understanding of the Fair Work Act and Modern Awards
- A team player who is comfortable to operate in a complex, evolving and fast paced environment
- Highly energetic, with a sense of humour to match!
