JDK Geotech (JDK) is actively seeking to build our Rock Engineering Team in NSW to help deliver recently awarded project scope.
JDK Geotech (JDK) is an established engineering consultancy specialising in technical services delivery and project management advice for large-scale infrastructure, transportation and mining projects across Australia.
The team of consultants is comprised of professionals with various technical backgrounds. Operating with industry experts on major (> $2 Billion) projects, JDK attracts driven professionals who stay ahead of industry developments.
The candidates will join JDK's technical team to deliver services for infrastructure, tunnelling, and mining projects in Sydney and NSW from our Pyrmont Office.

Key Responsibilities
- Review geotechnical data for design input
- Design, review, and implement Hazard Plans, Permit to Drill & Mine, and Permits to Mine
- Provide geological advice related to current and future mine plans
- Conduct slope stability assessments, 3D modelling, and underground stability reviews
- Assess, audit, and facilitate the evaluation of underground critical areas
- Manage geotechnical risks in accordance with Mining Acts and Regulations
- Perform stability analyses of UG excavations and open-pit slopes using industry standards
- Facilitate audits and inspections for the technical services department
- Optimize ground support policies for underground development
- Enhance selective mining processes to reduce overbreak and dilution, maintaining a safety focus
About You
- White Card
- Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or Mining Engineering
- Minimum one year of tunnelling or underground mining experience; coal mining experience is advantageous
- Clear communicator with an open personality
- Experience with Geotechnical & Mining Software, including LeapFrog, Minex, Plaxis, Rocscience suite, and Map3D
- Experience in mine production and development operations
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of NSW statutory requirements
