Our strengths-based approach ensures each participant is actively involved in the decision-making process, ensuring independence, dignity, and respect in alignment with their individual goals.Plan and Grow is seeking experienced, passionate, caring Male and Female Support Workers with native English speaking, full working rights—i.e., no visa restrictions—and full availability to assist in supporting participants with disabilities.
We are looking for candidates who possess strong boundaries, mentorship skills, and experience in this field, especially with behaviours of concern and de-escalation strategies.Working Hours:Houses operate 24/7.Key Responsibilities:Support participants in reaching their full potential through practical and emotional support, helping them work towards their NDIS plan goals.Carry out domestic duties to keep the home clean and tidy, including household cleaning, laundry, making beds, tidying rooms, and gardening.Accompany participants on outings such as appointments, shopping, social, community, and leisure activities.Support participants with medical and therapy appointments, ensuring relevant documentation is provided to the supervisor.Maintain food and groceries, shop with participants, prepare meals, and ensure food safety.Complete and submit required documentation, including Maintenance Requests, Progress Notes, and Incident Reports.Ideal Candidate:Proven experience working with disability.Strong communication skills with empathy, respect, and professionalism.Patience, resilience, and understanding to work effectively with young people.Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and managing behaviours of concern.Flexible with work hours and responsibilities.Native English speaker with full working rights and no visa restrictions.NDIS Worker Screening Check.Working with Children Check.2-3 years' experience or relevant qualifications in the disability sector.Completion of NDIS Worker Induction and Orientation Modules.Supporting Effective Communication Module.Infection Control, Medication Management, Food Safety, Emergency and Disaster Management, Waste Management, and Child Sexual Abuse Training.Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.Plan and Grow acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present, and future of this nation, and supports the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
