Personal Trainer
About the Role: Make a difference to the lives of older people through your ability to identify and develop meaningful and engaging personal training activities, which have a robust focus on reducing the incidence and impact of chronic disease. You will work with customers and residents to support them to achieve health and wellness through personal training and gym activities that increase social interaction, function and overall quality of life.
As an experienced Personal Trainer, you will provide personal training on a casual basis to our health studios and residential care homes across Adelaide.
What you'll do:
- Work collaboratively to support customers and residents to reach their fitness and health goals and plan appropriate activities
- Develop strategies, activities and programs which engage and empower older people
- Facilitate individual and group exercise activities as outlined by an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Allied Health professionals, customer and resident family members or carers
- Contribute and support ACH Group and the wider health team as a leader and promoter of Healthy and Active Ageing
About You
You are a talented and passionate Personal Trainer. You want to make the most of your expertise and thrive on the challenge of providing our customers and residents with quality care.
- You will have demonstrated experience working as a Personal Trainer and preferably working with older people
- Skills to motivate and engage individuals to enhance their abilities and meet their goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Applicants who also hold a Certificate III in Aged Care will be highly regarded
You will need:
- Certificate IV in Personal Training or Exercise Science qualification (Accreditation with Exercise Sport Science Australia)
- COVID-19 vaccinations
- A satisfactory police clearance less than 12 months old before commencement
