About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community. About the OpportunityWe are currently seeking applications from safety focused, hardworking, rail enthusiasts to join our newly developed teams. This role is a rare and exciting opportunity to be a part of a team working on various projects around the ARTC Interstate Network. This role has a strong focus contributing to the delivery of various maintenance projects such as re-railing, undercutting, formation upgrades, vegetation management and other various civil works. In order to complete these activities, the safe and efficient operation of specialised machinery such as Hi-Rail excavators, dump trucks and Front-End Loaders will be a core requirement of the role.As these are field based positions, you will be required to work a variable roster dependant on business needs e.g., 9 and 5, 10 and 4, 5 and 2, with extensive travel. Self-motivated
Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
Safe working qualifications relevant to the position - highly regarded.
Operational experience with mobile plant in a railway environment - highly regarded.
Current Rail Industry Competencies
Construction industry induction (white card)
Current Driver's Licence - HR and above highly regarded.
Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical
Prior experience working in a physically demanding role.
