About Us
BCLS is a not-for-profit community legal centre serving the Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac Otway, Queenscliff and Golden Plains regions since 1986.
We deliver legal advice, casework, social work and community education to people facing disadvantage. Our work goes beyond individual files — we identify systemic issues, contribute to law reform and advocate for structural change that strengthens our community.
About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Receptionist on a fixed-term contract until February 2027. You will be the first point of contact for many people seeking assistance, providing reception support, assisting with client intake and appointment bookings and helping maintain accurate client records.
This part-time position requires availability for 20-25 hours per week.
You will:
* Provide professional front of house reception and greet visitors
* Answer phone and email enquiries and direct them to appropriate staff
* Conduct client conflict checks and record client details in the database
* Book, confirm and reschedule client appointments
* Arrange interpreters when required
* Maintain accurate client records and complete data entry
* Assist with general administration duties and office support
* Manage incoming mail, deliveries and client document collection
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Experience in a reception or similar customer service role
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Strong communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly
* A professional, compassionate and discreet approach when dealing with clients
* A commitment to equity, access and social justice
Experience in the legal or community services sector, or working with people from diverse backgrounds will be highly regarded.
