**Job Title:** Environmental Manager

The successful candidate will lead environmental and sustainability compliance for all construction activities across Defence projects in Darwin, Northern Territory. This involves ensuring that all environmental obligations are met through proper planning, execution, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement effective Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and associated sub-plans, including PFAS Risk Assessments, Environmental Site Containment Plans (ESCPs), Asbestos Management, and Contamination Management.
* Conduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and monitoring to ensure compliance with project specifications, Defence policies, and NT EPA requirements.
* Promptly report any incidents or near misses in accordance with NAVFAC and Defence protocols.
* Maintain accurate environmental records, including inspection reports and approvals for site activities.
* Supervise subcontractors to ensure they comply with environmental requirements and provide on-site guidance as needed.
* Develop and maintain Sustainability eNotebooks for each project, ensuring milestones and documentation meet Defence and U.S. DoD standards.
* Ensure project-specific sustainability goals related to energy efficiency, recycled content, low-emission materials, and third-party design certifications are met.
* Track and document all 'S' (Sustainability) submittals, including calculations, labels, certifications, and as-built compliance reports.
* Collaborate with design, procurement, and quality control teams to verify sustainability measures during material selection and installation.
* Represent the environmental and sustainability functions in project meetings, including pre-construction, coordination, and turnover meetings.
Requirements
* Proven experience in environmental management and sustainability.
* Strong understanding of Defence policies and NT EPA requirements.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Able to work effectively in a team environment.
* High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
