Join to apply for the Casual Beach Lifeguards role at City of Gold Coast. The City is seeking skilled and experienced candidates to join our Lifeguard Services team as Casual Beach Lifeguard for the Summer of 2025/2026. You will support the permanent team during the peak school holiday period from 15 December 2025 to 26 January 2026, helping keep beaches safe and fun. 
About the role 
As a City Lifeguard, you'll provide timely, professional assistance to beachgoers, ensuring compliance with Local Laws, Regulations, and Policies. For more information including role responsibilities, view the position brief (paperclip icon).

Shortlisted candidates will need to attend 
- Fitness Assessments: Saturday, 1 November 2025 (8 am – 12 pm, Greenmount Beach) and Wednesday, 5 November 2025 (3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, Burleigh Beach). Both sessions are mandatory. 
- Pre-employment Medical Assessment: Week of 10–14 November 2025 
- Orientation and Induction: Wednesday 3 December 2025 
About you 
You're passionate about water safety and delivering high-quality customer service. You have proven lifeguarding experience, practical knowledge of patrolling, responding to emergencies, and educating the public on beach and surf safety. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and work well in a team, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and policies. You are committed to keeping your qualifications current. 
We’re looking for people who have 
- An ocean lifeguard qualification - Statement of Attainment in Bronze Medallion, APOLA or equivalent 
- Current QLD Working with Children Blue Card 
- Statement of Attainment in Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and First Aid 
- Driver's Licence 
- Jet ski (PWCL) or marine/boat licence highly desirable
