**The Role**
Based at Edinburgh, the JLU(S) Business Manager (BM) is an integral part of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Commanding Officer. The BM requires leadership skills and experience commensurate with an executive role and is responsible for the governance, assurance, enabling, and support functions to support service delivery.

**About our Team**
The BM is responsible and accountable to manage outcomes of a multidisciplinary team. The portfolio includes the management of workplace health, safety and environment, information and records management, corporate governance, data analysis and reporting, workforce, facilities, equipment, budget and finance and security. In order to deliver the breadth of outcomes the BM has four direct reports and a total of 11 APS and Reserve staff.
The ideal BM will be motivated and energetic self-starter who has experience in leadership roles. You will be capable of managing a variety of concurrent tasks under competing time pressures, and are astute at fostering a cohesive and supportive work environment. You will enjoy engaging with a diverse workforce that spans Defence personnel, public servants and industry partners, which is crucial to effective performance in this role. You will be an excellent communicator who can quickly discern information across the organisation.
You will have experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in a service-focused environment. A key ability will be advising senior leadership on conditions of service for both Australian Defence Force and Australian Pubic Service. Experience in workforce planning and financial management will be highly beneficial in this role.
