About theRole

Thisrole is responsible for field supervision and the efficientdelivery of dynamic maintenance schedules within Townsville CityCouncil's playgrounds portfolio. The ideal candidate willsupervise a crew of operational staff, providing hands-onleadership and technical guidance to ensure maintenance activitiesand reactive repairs are carried out effectively across a diverserange of Council assets. Ensuring asset compliance, safety, andfunctionality will be key priorities.

Working closelywith Team Leaders and technical specialists, the candidate willsupport resource planning and assess operational capacity, whileensuring adherence to worksite safety standards, regulatorycompliance, budget constraints, and clear communication withstakeholders. This position plays a vital role in maintaining safe,accessible, and high-quality public spaces for thecommunity.

AboutYou

Ourideal candidate will have:

Mandatory

- QLD workingwith children blue card (essential).
- Demonstratedability to use power tools to perform necessary workactivities.
- Level 2Operational Inspection course or willing to obtain.
- Current manual"C" class driver's licence with the ability to obtain an"MR" driver's licence.
- ConstructionIndustry White Card (30215 QLD).
- Certificate IIIin Horticulture or significant experience in managing on-groundoperational crews in the delivery of allocated Horticulturalwork activities.
- Trade basedbackground – preferably carpentry or mechanicalfitter/welder.
- Knowledge andunderstanding of Australian Playground Safety Standards(AS4685:2021).
- Previousexperience of installation and maintenance of play equipmentand parks assets.
- FirstAid/CPR/Emergency Life Support Certificate.
- AgriculturalChemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC)accreditation.
- AccreditedChainsaw ticket (Level 2).
- VisualInspection Park Facilities accreditation.
