About This Opportunity
Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Officer to join the Facilities and Open Spaces Program. This permanent full‐time position operates on a 9‐day fortnight roster. The role requires carrying out both reactive and proactive maintenance tasks for all Council buildings and facilities under Property Services.

You are a reliable and adaptable professional with practical experience supporting maintenance or facilities operations. You enjoy organising work, analysing information, and keeping systems and records accurate and up to date. You are solution‐driven, analytical, dependable, customer‐focused, and committed to safe, compliant maintenance outcomes.
You Bring
* Practical experience coordinating maintenance activities, work orders, or contractors
* A sound understanding of asset records, service histories, and planned maintenance programs
* Well‐developed computer skills and confidence using asset management systems
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors and facility users
* Excellent time‐management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
* Qualifications in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Asset Management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Practical experience in facilities, maintenance coordination, construction, or asset management environments
* Experience working with contractors or service providers
* Current QLD "C" Class Driver Licence (or ability to transfer)
