The Role
The Procurement Manager leads all strategic and operational procurement activities across direct and indirect categories. This includes supplier selection, contract management, negotiations, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and services. The role works closely with production, logistics, quality, and finance teams and maintains strong external supplier relationships.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure continuity of critical goods and services
* Analyse market trends, supplier performance, and demand profiles to mitigate risk
* Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers across direct and indirect categories
* Lead contract negotiations and manage long‐term agreements and compliance
* Oversee daily purchasing operations including PO management and invoice resolution
* Drive cost improvement initiatives and enhance procurement systems and visibilityCollaborate with quality, HSE, and operations teams on supplier audits and compliance
* Manage procurement reporting, data accuracy, and ERP usage
* Build strong internal stakeholder relationships across production, logistics, finance, and commercial teams
* Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports
Key skills required
* Extensive procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong contract negotiation, supplier management, and commercial acumen
* Knowledge of logistics, freight movements, Incoterms, and duty/tax implications
* Strong ERP and systems capability with advanced Excel skills
* Experience managing both strategic and operational procurement activities
* Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
* Problem‐solving mindset, analytical strength, and ability to prioritise complex workloads
* Strong stakeholder engagement across operational and commercial teams
