Pormpuraaw State School is seeking a Head of Department – Curriculum to join the staff in 2026. Our Kindy to Year 6 school is located on the spectacular west coast of Cape York, serving a close community. The school team is committed to delivering high‑quality educational outcomes for every student while nurturing strong relationships with families.
The school offers classes from Kindy to Year 6 for an enrolment of approximately 80 children. Our staff are committed to ensuring that each day, all students receive a high‑quality education focused on literacy and numeracy. Teaching strategies are informed by research and continually reviewed to meet student needs. Teacher aides assist in classrooms. Pormpuraaw State School is proud of its positive culture.

Your Opportunity
As Head of Department (Curriculum) you will lead a curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives, participate in delivering the vision of the State Schools Division, develop quality of teaching and learning, and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

* Lead relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
