Senior Employment Lawyer
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety team on a permanent, full-time basis.
We are looking for a driven, self-starter who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to clients.
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a lawyer (3+ years PQE) working on a range of employment and industrial relations matters. Safety experience is desirable.
* Ability to draft clear, concise, correct, and commercial advice and documents.
* A strong sense of purpose, ambition, and a proactive approach to work.
* Strong people skills; the ability to communicate and build a rapport with clients.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with impact to both internal contacts and external clients.
* An appetite, and demonstrated ability to mentor and coach more junior team members.
* A high degree of initiative, dedication, and organisational ability with a strong client and commercial focus.
* A proactive attitude towards personal development to expand skills and knowledge to meet client needs.

In this role, you will be working with Partner Shae McCartney and be part of our Canberra office.
You will have the opportunity to advise on all aspects of workplace relations and work on varied and interesting matters from general employment law, industrial relations strategy and disputes, advising on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, compliance and regulatory matters, discrimination, work health and safety, whistleblowing, modern slavery, and disputation and litigation across most Courts and Tribunals.
