About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available with Western NSW LHD Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Services that will focus on supporting training and education of psychiatry trainees and medical students in the District. The position is based at Bloomfield Hospital, Orange.

Education

The Training & Education Director will report to the District Clinical Director as part of the Medical Administration Unit at Bloomfield Hospital. You will:

* coordinate the clinical training program for registrars enrolled in the WNSW psychiatry training scheme and fulfil the SCOT role as part of the Northern Training Network;

* keep apprised of the strategic directions and educational and funding opportunities extant and emerging in Commonwealth and State initiatives focusing on the medical workforce, particularly those applying to rural medical training and practice.

A limited clinical role can be incorporated as negotiated. The Training & Education Director will work with the clinical director, medical administration and unit directors in the management of junior medical staffing including recruitment and rostering.
