The School offers the benefits of a metropolitan environment with the welcoming charm of a smaller community.Ipswich Girls' Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Intervention and Extension Teacher to join our collaborative academic team.
This is a part-time, fixed-term position, working 12 hours spread across a fortnightly timetable in ****, with the potential for additional hours through relief teaching assignments.The role primarily supports students with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties (Physical, Cognitive, Sensory, Social-Emotional differences), English as an Additional Language or Dialect students and High ability students.
Experience and capability in teaching Senior Mathematics (Years *****) will be highly regarded.As part of a dynamic and committed team, you will contribute to a high-quality teaching and learning environment by:Teaching classes in areas including, but not limited to, Literacy and Numeracy Support, English as an Additional Language.Supporting learners through one-to-one and small group interventions, as directed by the Head of Extension and Intervention.Consult with parents, students, and teachers to design and implement curricula and cocurricular programs and interventions for diverse learners, with the direction of the Head of Extension and Intervention.Consult, communicate, report and be accountable to internal and external stakeholders for funding and support purposes, with the direction of the head of Extension and InterventionFacilitate placement tests for EAL/D enrolments.Support teachers in their professional development and understanding of student needs.If you're passionate about education and ready to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant school community, we encourage you to apply.WHAT YOU WILL BRINGTo be successful in this role, you will have proven experience and demonstrated knowledge of strategies for teaching diverse learners including learners requiring literacy and numeracy support, and EAL/D learners; and demonstrated ability to implement these strategies.
