Wakefield Regional Council value its people and prides itself on being an employer of choice. Council is seeking a Contract Management Coordinator to join our team on a permanent full-time or part-time basis.
About the role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring contractual outcomes align with legislative requirements, Council policy, and organisational priorities. As a key point of contact for contractual enquires across the organisation, you'll require a strong knowledge of contractor requirements including procurement and contract law to drive performance, compliance, and efficiency.
To Be Successful in this role you will have:
• Demonstrated experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial law.
• Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian contract legislation and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Tertiary qualification in contract management or procurement or similar (desirable)
• Experience in local government (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the management of Council's high-value and high-risk contracts, including major capital works, infrastructure maintenance, waste management, community waste water management scheme and essential services agreements.
• Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts, renewals, and variations in alignment with relevant legislation and strategic objectives.
• Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders and represent Council in key supplier negotiations.
• Prepare reports and insights on contract performance, cost efficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement
