The Role Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania’s second largest hospital and a key teaching site. The Women’s & Children’s Service offers strong collaboration between obstetric, gynaecology and midwifery teams, a neonatal unit providing care from 32 weeks gestation and comprehensive obstetric and gynaecology services.
You will contribute to the day-to-day management of Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients, working under the guidance and support of experienced consultants within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of clinical activity, including:
Management of both routine and high-risk pregnancies
Participation in gynaecological surgery, including:
Laparoscopic procedures (up to Level 6)
Hysteroscopy
Urogynaecology (generalist level)
Open and vaginal surgery
Inpatient and postoperative care
Supervision and teaching of doctors in training and students
Participation in on‑call and shift-based rota
Requirements
Eligible for registration with AHPRA via the Competent Authority pathway
Experience at Registrar level (or equivalent) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
