About the role We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Scientist to join our client's team, focusing on the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites in accordance with the 2025 Regional Plan.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating environmental hazards to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protect public health and the environment.
This role involves significant site engagement, consultant interaction and project management responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities: • Prepare scopes for contaminated sites investigations• Maintain oversight of site assessments, including soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling• Review and provide detailed technical feedback on draft contaminated sites reports prepared by sites or consultants.• Serve as the primary point of contact for consultants for key projects• Provide technical guidance and support to sites and the regional (Australian) environmental team• Facilitate the deployment of the Regional contaminated sites framework• Stay updated on the latest environmental regulations, technologies, and best practices.• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively What's on Offer?

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, or a related field• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation, managing all phases of contaminated site investigations• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.• Experience working in the context of heavy industrial contamination• Experience working with Contaminated Sites Consultants• Experience working with Contaminated Sites Auditors and Regulators• Demonstrated commitment to environmental compliance and continuous improvement in an operational risk management context• Experience developing strategies and improvement plansIf this is your field of expertise and you would relish the opportunity to influence at a corporate level, please register your interest today.
