Description
Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) as our next Payroll Advisor and be part of a team driven by purpose. You'll work in a supportive, collaborative environment with leaders genuinely committed to your growth, alongside the flexibility you need to balance work and life.
As a critical member of the payroll team, you will deliver accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across the RFDS. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by managing end-to-end payroll operations, providing high-quality administrative and advisory support, and contributing to the reliability of each payroll cycle.
This is a part-time role with flexibility in how you structure your hours. We are seeking a minimum of 25 hours per week—for example, 9 am to 2 pm with the option to work from home two days per week. The position will initially commence as a 12-month opportunity.
What will your day look like?
You will support : Payroll Processing
Deliver end-to-end fortnightly payroll and maintain accurate employee data
Ensure all activities comply with RFDS policies, procedures, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Provide timely, accurate payroll advice to employees and leaders
Support end-of-pay, month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations
Reporting & Projects
Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, including WGEA submission support
Assist with annual remuneration increases
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Participate in internal payroll audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
Identify process improvement opportunities and support systems optimisation
Contribute to business planning, policy development and payroll process enhancement
Who we are looking for :

1-3 years of experience similar role
Certificate level qualification
Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements and relevant legislation
A strong ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Demonstrated capability in report development\l
Experience with payroll systems and HRIS
Confident skills in Excel reporting
Strong communication, customer service and attention to detail
High level of accuracy in all tasks
