A well-established and expanding workforce solutions provider supporting Australia's mining and drilling sectors is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Advisor to join its team on a full‑time basis commencing in January.
This is a key role within the business, supporting high‑volume operations and ensuring payroll is processed accurately, compliantly and on time. You will work closely with leadership and operational teams in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Processing weekly end‑to‑end payroll
* Entering, validating and reconciling timesheets accurately and on schedule
* Interpreting and applying awards, allowances, overtime, penalties, site rates and travel requirements
* Responding to payroll‑related enquiries from employees, clients and internal stakeholders in a professional and approachable manner
* Preparing weekly invoicing, back charges and assisting with end‑of‑month processes
* Creating and maintaining pay and bill agreements, rate templates and compliance documentation
* Identifying opportunities for payroll system and process improvements

Role Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a Payroll Officer role
* Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status
* Solid understanding of penalty rates, allowances, bonuses, overtime and travel requirements
* Proven ability to meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy and problem‑solving skills
* Experience with Xero, Tanda and ConnectTeams (desirable)
* Background in mining, resources, construction or recruitment environments (desirable)
* Strong communication skills and stakeholder management ability
