Location
The role is based at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Neurology (Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District). The department provides primary, secondary, and tertiary care to the Greater Western Region and offers an on‑call neurology service to satellite district hospitals.
Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient and outpatient care for neurology patients in the NBLHD.
* Deliver movement disorder services in accordance with fellowship training and clinical expertise.
* Support and oversee the movement disorder service at Nepean Hospital.
* Participate in quality assurance, audit, and basic or clinical research activities as required by the department.
Appointment Terms
The appointment is 0.3 FTE from 27 April 2026 to 3 July 2026, then 0.5 FTE from 4 July 2026. Conditions of appointment are governed by the Health Services Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Selection Criteria
* Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent specialist recognition.
* Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge in Neurology/Movement Disorders and a commitment to continuing medical education.
* Show high level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
* Commit to teaching and supervising junior medical staff in line with contemporary best practice standards.
* Model professional behaviour and demonstrate the skills and attitudes required of a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner.
* Familiarity with research concepts and the willingness to support relevant research within the department.
