Regional Sustainability Lead – Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific
Boeing Australia is currently seeking a Regional Sustainability Lead to be based in Sydney or Brisbane in a hybrid capacity. The role is responsible for driving regional sustainability strategies, supporting customer priorities, and delivering actionable outcomes. You will engage internal and external stakeholders to influence aviation sustainability and build relationships across the industry.
About the Role
This role will develop and deliver Boeing's regional strategy in public policy advocacy, partnership development, and external positioning in aviation sustainability.
Policy
* Track and analyze pending and existing regulation, legislation, news releases and public policy issues in aerospace and defense environmental policies, national climate policies and the wider ESG space in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop advocacy plans around aviation decarbonisation and represent company interests.
* Continue development and delivery of sustainable aviation policy and advocacy plans, including through the Australian Jet Zero Council and other relevant forums.
* Advocate for policies that support aviation decarbonisation, including fleet renewal, operational efficiency, SAF, alternative technologies and market‐based measures.
* Lead engagement with government, NGOs, business associations and think tanks on effective aviation decarbonisation policy.
Partnerships
* Collaborate with airline partners to deliver sustainability and business value across the region.
* Lead regional efforts with Boeing business units (commercial, defense and services) and relevant functions to advance sustainability strategies.
* Identify and develop external partnerships focused on fleet renewal, operational efficiency, SAF and market‐based measures.
* Partner with Communications to tell Boeing's sustainability story across the region.
* Engage relevant forums to reach new audiences and stimulate conversation on aviation sustainability.
* Represent the company's sustainability commitment at conferences, panels and industry workshops.
* Articulate the co‐benefits of aviation sustainability, including economic and resilience outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
* 8+ years of combined experience in aviation and sustainability.
* Experience in policy and advocacy related to aviation, sustainability, government relations or issue advocacy.
* Advanced working knowledge of the aviation and sustainability sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies with clear, quantifiable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate strategic benefits of sustainability action.
