About The Role
This position is responsible for delivering high-level occupational therapy services and leadership within a hospital setting, working as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients.
Services may be provided in various settings including hospitals, clinics, or patient homes. Occupational Therapy Clinical Services include the provision of outpatient, inpatient, and sub-acute clinical services.
Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services that meet the needs of patients and contribute to the overall goal of providing exceptional healthcare.
* To work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
* To provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on occupational therapy practices and standards.
* To participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* High level of knowledge, expertise and skill in contemporary clinical practice standards for adult physical occupational therapy services
* Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with initiative in a multi-disciplinary team environment
* Builds rapport with patients and demonstrates empathy, patience and respect in delivering a flexible service that meets patient's needs, in accordance with organisational goals
* Applies clinical evidence that support continuous improvement, including the ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local quality and service improvement activities
* Commitment to education and training including supervision of students and staff, as well as ongoing continuing professional development
* High level organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise clinical caseloads and non-clinical tasks, and the ability to provide leadership and direction to students, HP3 clinical staff and assistants
