About the Role Milestone IT is partnering with a leading retail organisation based in Melbourne to secure an experienced SQL Developer for their infrastructure team. This role is essential for supporting a large-scale, evolving database environment during a period of significant growth and technical transition. You will be responsible for developing high-quality SQL databases, optimizing performance, and building the applications required to interface with core systems. This is a fast-paced environment that requires a professional capable of delivering high-quality solutions under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Database Development: Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and views using T-SQL. Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve query bottlenecks and enhance overall database efficiency. ETL & Integration: Create and manage ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into SQL Server databases. Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, identifying root causes to maintain system reliability. Collaborative Support: Work closely with the Senior Database Team Lead and front-end developers to ensure seamless application integration. Your Skills & Experience Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in T-SQL and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008R2 through 2019. Tooling: Strong experience with SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS. Data Migration: Proven ability to develop scripts for seamless data migration while ensuring data integrity. Version Control: Familiarity with Git for source code management and Visual Studio. Qualifications: A relevant tertiary degree and a Microsoft SQL Certification are mandatory requirements.
