The Department leads the delivery of education and development services to children, young people and adults both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services, non-government schools and training programs.

The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students 0 to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Curriculum Division in the F-10 Revision Unit for a fixed term full-time position till 30 June 2025.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) commenced a process to ‘adopt and adapt' the revised Australian Curriculum Version into Victorian Curriculum F-10 Version The Victorian Curriculum F-10 Revision Unit leads the revision to the Victorian Curriculum F-10 and the development of familiarisation resources to support its implementation in Victorian schools.
Building on the success of the current Victorian Curriculum F-10, the revisions will:
1. Ensure the Australian Curriculum is implemented in Victoria while maintaining Victorian priorities and standards;
2. Make it more teachable and manageable to enable efficient and effective implementation, strengthening student access to the essential knowledge and skills needed to be successful learners;
3. Improve achievement standards to help teachers assess student learning more effectively
4. Develop a program of familiarisation and support resources (professional learning and resources) and monitoring that supports and enables Victorian teachers to implement the Victorian Curriculum F-10 with confidence.
The Policy Officer plays a key role in the revisions process and familiarisation of the revised Victorian Curriculum F-10. They will be involved in a range of policy and project tasks and activities, including policy research, development of policy options, consultation and stakeholder engagement. The Policy Officer is also responsible for the secretariat functions of a major reform governance group, which requires well developed project management, stakeholder management skills and high-level administration skills. This exciting role will suit someone with conceptual and analytical ability, detail focus, initiative and accountability. Experience in the education and training sectors, particularly in the design, delivery, implementation and support of educational programs, is desirable.
