Remuneration: $57,614.53 per annum (plus superannuation and salary packaging options)
Location: Bathurst, NSW
Hours per week: 38 hours
About the Role
Our goal to build healthier rural people and thriving communities is a shared responsibility of all involved in the care of our patients. The Hospital Assistant is an integral and valued member of that effort, supporting nursing staff in hospitals and other health care establishments with non‐medical duties including housekeeping, portering patients, and general assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with housekeeping duties.
- Porter patients and provide general assistance.
- Handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, and other medical equipment.
- Remain calm in emergencies.
- Follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and energetic.
- Physically fit.
- Caring and supportive attitude.
- Positive communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
- Capability to handle equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and other medical equipment.
Additional Information for Applicants
- This is a holiday relief position; roster will be known up to six weeks in advance.
- The position is managed by Downer on a day‐to‐day basis and is physically based at Bathurst Health Service.
