We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our busy in-house legal team. This role will play a key part as trusted legal advisor to all areas of the business, including commercial & supply, finance, projects, operations, exploration, native title, human resources, company secretarial, and management.
This Senior Legal Counsel will advise on legal and regulatory matters for the business, mitigating risk and protecting our interests. They will negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts, including procurement (goods and services), project, mining services, toll treating, banking facility, and confidentiality agreements.
The ideal candidate will have 5-12 years of post-admission experience, with a background in the mining, resources, construction, or engineering sector. They must hold a Bachelor's degree in law, admission to the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory with a current legal practising certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on legal and regulatory matters to mitigate risk and protect our interests
* Negotiate and draft commercial contracts
* Provide strategic legal advice on commercial, contractual, and corporations law matters
* Collaborate with senior management and advise on high-impact projects and operations
* Assist with corporate governance matters relating to our dual ASX/TSX listing
* Effectively manage and resolve legal disputes and claims within set timeframes and manage external legal counsel within budget
