This role is part of our Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) Legal team, which provides expert legal advice to help our business units achieve their strategic goals. As a key member of this team, you'll be responsible for providing critical support in several areas:
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Disney+**: Under the guidance of our Senior Counsel ANZ, you'll review and clear marketing and social assets, eDMs, and contractual documentation for Disney+ campaigns in ANZ. This includes drafting disclaimers, streamlining processes, reviewing partner co-promotions, and negotiating influencer agreements.
2. **Content Sales & Distribution**: You'll draft and negotiate licence agreements for the distribution of Disney content, collaborate with content security teams, and assist in preparing revenue recognition reports and legal analyses for our finance team.
3. **Studio & Franchise Marketing**: You'll support other legal team members in drafting various contractual documents, such as services agreements, agency agreements, partnership agreements, artwork clearances, and review competition T&Cs related to theatrical releases and franchise marketing activities.
4. Assist in preparing presentations, training materials, and updating internal policies and processes.
5. Draft NDAs, amendments, and extensions of existing agreements across various business lines.
6. Conduct research and prepare memos on legislative, case-law, and policy changes relevant to Disney's business and the media and entertainment industry.
Ideal Experience:
1. Bachelor of Laws or equivalent qualification.
2. 3-4 years PQE as a qualified lawyer, preferably in a top-tier law firm, with experience in licensing intellectual property rights and advising on consumer law. In-house media or entertainment law experience is advantageous but not essential.
3. Experience advising in the media and entertainment industry, FMCG, or other IP-driven businesses is highly desirable.
