About the role
The 12-month full-time Occupational Therapist Level 2 role located at Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Occupational Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient‐centred, evidence‐based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and Occupational Therapy Australia.
The essence of this role
* Provision of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
* Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients' level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment
* Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation's Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client‐centred, continuous quality improvement work environment
About you
* A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA
* Significant practical experience or Extensive Knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a Palliative Care setting. Experience across inpatient and outpatient / community settings would be desirable
* A current driver's licence and safe driving record
* Willingness to travel between HammondCare's sites and services
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience in conducting home assessments and equipment prescription
* Demonstrated experience in pressure care and pressure injury management.
