Our client is a well-established agricultural producer in Northern Tasmania, supplying fresh vegetables to domestic and export markets. Due to seasonal harvesting requirements, we are seeking 50 reliable and motivated Harvest Workers to support peak production across multiple farm sites.
Role and Responsibilities
These roles involve hands-on work in an outdoor farming environment, assisting with the harvesting, handling, and packing of vegetables. Work is seasonal in nature and dependent on crop volumes and weather conditions.
* Harvesting vegetables by hand and with basic tools
* Picking, trimming, and packing produce
* Grading and basic quality checks
* General field duties and crop maintenance
* Maintaining cleanliness of work areas
* Following all WHS, farm safety, and supervisor instructions
To Be Successful
* Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
* Ability to perform repetitive manual labour
* Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors
* Ability to work in varying weather conditions
* Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
* Previous farm or harvest experience (advantage but not essential)
* Driver's licence and own transport preferred (limited public transport in rural areas)

Mandatory Requirements
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical if required

Hours of Work, Pay & Conditions
* Hours of Work: Casual seasonal employment
* Rostered Monday to Friday (some weekend work may be required during peak harvest periods)
* Weekly Hours: Up to 38 hours per week
* Start Time: Early morning starts (to be advised)
* Shift Duration: Approx. 7.6 hours per day, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break
* Additional Hours: Hours may vary based on weather and crop demand
* Overtime, where worked, will be paid in accordance with the applicable Award
Example Weekly Structure (38 hours): Monday 7.6 hours; Tuesday 7.6 hours; Wednesday 7.6 hours; Thursday 7.6 hours; Friday 7.6 hours. Total: 38 hours.
Pay & Conditions: Employees will be paid in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028) or the applicable classification based on duties performed. Entitlements include base hourly rate or piece rates where applicable (as permitted under the Award), overtime and penalty rates where applicable, superannuation contributions, weekly payslips and compliant timekeeping, and no unlawful deductions.

* This role is based on working farms and may involve outdoor work in all weather conditions
* Repetitive bending, lifting, and manual handling
* Standing and walking for extended periods
* Working around agricultural machinery
Full site induction and safety training will be provided prior to commencement.
