Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full‐time, temporary Design and Technology Teacher to become an integral part of the College's Design and Technology Team, commencing Semester 2, 20th July 2026.
This will be a leave cover for all of Term 3 2026.

The Design and Technology Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Design and Technology Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to:
Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes.
Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth.
Delivering engaging Design and Technology curriculum, guiding students through the design process while developing their creativity, problem‐solving, practical, and critical thinking skills in areas such as design thinking, materials and technologies, production processes and innovation.
Programming for classes within the Design and Technology Learning Area and thoroughly planning for each lesson.
Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students.
Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive.
About You
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism whilst supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College.
You will:
* Have the ability to teach across all year levels (Years 7–12).
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Secondary Education, preferably with a specialisation in Design and Technology.
* Have experience teaching high school students.
* Have a comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
* Be committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and high‐quality learning experiences that cater to a range of student abilities.
* Show strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate with colleagues.
* Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
* Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth.
* Actively support and contribute to the co‐curricular life of the College.
