Maintenance Officer
Full‐time position | located in Fletcher
Salary Range | $62,308 per year
About the Role
Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is looking for a Maintenance Officer to undertake maintenance duties, including but not limited to repairs, painting, minor construction and alteration works, gardening and grounds works, and general handyman duties. The officer will be responsible for ensuring all equipment and premises are maintained in a safe and sound condition and that all duties carried out by the team are done so in a professional manner.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Gardening tasks – planting, pruning, fertilising, watering, mulching and weeding of garden areas
* Regular sweeping, rubbish removal, blower vacuuming and/or hosing
* Minor repairs of equipment and furniture, painting, moving items of furniture and classroom supplies
* Daily security routines (unlocking gates for entry and securing the site at end of day)
* Maintaining a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors
* Assisting with the set‐up of events and functions

Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience
* White Card essential
* Experience driving a LR bus
* Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high‐level oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff regarding work areas
* High attention to detail
* Experience working outdoors
* Experience working in confined spaces
* Experience working at heights
* Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and regulations
* Demonstrated experience in cleaning and maintenance
* Demonstrated capability to perform the physical and technical tasks and duties specific to the role
* NSW Working with Children Check
* National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
