**About the Role**:
We are looking for a passionate, driven and enthusiastic **Risk Officer** to join the ICC Sydney team and promote a risk based thinking culture by providing advice and assistance internally and to external stakeholders.
Risk Officers are responsible for implementing and monitoring risk management processes and procedures that form part of ICC Sydney's business management framework, in order to comply with legislative requirements, international standards and internal processes, both during events and across general operations.
These roles encompass system and operational risk management across a broad range of areas including safety and environmental management, food safety and quality management. While you may not have experience across all areas, we aim to define specific responsibilities to meet the successful applicants' skill sets and provide development opportunities that will enable the successful applicants to gain experience in all areas of responsibility.
Due to the nature of events at ICC Sydney, these roles will involve evening and weekend work from time to time.
**General Responsibilities**:
**Risk systems**
- Assist in the management of risk based management systems, including quality, safety, food safety and environmental management.
- Administer risk related software systems including; document management, contractor management, incident management, compliance management, chemical management.
- Conduct audits and inspections to monitor compliance.
- Investigate incidents and monitor actions to prevent recurrence.
- Gather, maintain and analyse data and report trends.
- Develop risk messaging and present relevant training to the ICC Sydney team to increase awareness and contribute to compliance.
**Risk operations**
- Provide a presence across the venue through an active operational presence in the Convention Centre, Exhibition Centre and Theatre during move in, operations and move out.
- Conduct risk assessments for events and operational activities.
- Review event documentation in relation to compliance with venue and statutory requirements.
- Monitor and authorise permits for potentially hazardous activities for example; dangerous goods, amusement rides, pyrotechnics, high risk equipment.
- Monitor the implementation of controls identified during business and event based risk assessments and report on compliance.
- Monitor contractors to verify that they are competent to perform their duties while on site at ICC Sydney.
**Required Skills & Experience**:
- Completed or undertaking recognised qualifications in a relevant discipline - Certificate IV minimum
- Sound knowledge and understanding applicable legislation - WHS, Environment, Food Safety
- Working knowledge of one or more international management systems standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22000 and ISO45001)
- Strong consultative, facilitation and negotiation skills with the capacity to work across all organisational levels
- High standard of writing and reporting skills
- Internal/external auditing qualifications/skills highly regarded
- Previous experience in a risk and compliance related role and working knowledge of the hospitality, convention and exhibition industry is desirable
