About the Role
The Control Room Operator plays a critical part in managing power stations, focusing on cost-effective operation while prioritizing personnel safety. They create detailed work orders for equipment malfunctions, record relevant data after incidents, and troubleshoot plant problems.
This role involves daily control and decision-making for multiple power stations, working closely with maintenance teams to optimize performance and schedules.
The base location for this residential position is at Parkeston Power Station in Kalgoorlie. The shift pattern includes 2 days of work, 2 nights of work, and 4 days off.
A Day in the Life
* Maintain system efficiency while ensuring personnel safety
* Create comprehensive work orders for equipment failures
* Document incident data, including alarm logs, event records, and trends
* Adhere to high standards of documentation
* Analyze and resolve plant equipment issues
* Participate in incident investigations, providing expert insights
* Train new staff members in operations procedures
* Collaborate regularly with maintenance teams on plant performance and maintenance planning

Nice to have qualifications include High Risk Work Licence in Turbine Operations and Advanced Boiler certification.
