Job Title: Specialist Paediatrician
About the Role:
A metropolitan teaching hospital is seeking an experienced Paediatrician to work with its multidisciplinary team, providing expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the paediatric on-call roster and care of inpatients. Additionally, they will provide high-standard General Paediatric and Neonatal care, including complex case management and clinical supervision of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in the Paediatric on-call roster and care of inpatients
• Provide high-standard General Paediatric and Neonatal care, including complex case management and clinical supervision of staff
• Track record in managing neonatal and paediatric emergencies at a consultant level, requiring current certification
• Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork philosophy, and approachable manner that promotes a positive working environment
Requirements:
• Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or equivalent specialist recognition
• Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
