Therapy Assistant Role
Bethanie, a leading not for profit aged care provider in Western Australia, seeks a skilled Therapy Assistant to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for residents at Bethanie Dalyellup Aged Care Home.
This role requires enthusiasm and creativity in working with people of all abilities and backgrounds. The successful candidate will support and cultivate residents' strengths and interests while facilitating individual and group therapy sessions independently under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groups.
* Adapt activities to resident's level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
* Address physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents.
* Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer based.
Essential Requirements:
* Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).
* Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in aged care including dementia or other healthcare environments.
* Experience working with residents with dementia is an advantage.
* Clear communication skills in both verbal and written capacities with care recipients, families and team members.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.
