Job Description
A Data Governance Analyst is required to drive the development and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance, management procedures and best practices.
This key role will shape the organisation's evolving data strategy and ensure data is treated as a valuable and strategic asset.
The successful candidate will have experience working with cloud-based data platforms, strong skills in Power BI and data visualisation, and a solid understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance obligations.
They will also be skilled in metadata management, data lineage, and quality assurance, and have a bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT, or a related field.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure)
Strong skills in Power BI and data visualisation
Exposure to Git, Python, SQL, and XML
Demonstrated commercial impact through past data governance and strategy projects
Solid understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance obligations (e.g., Privacy Act)
Experience with data management tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview or similar)
Familiar with industry frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, GDPR, DMBOK, or ISO 42001 for AI/ML governance
Skilled in metadata management, data lineage, and quality assurance
Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, IT, or related field
