Your new role
As a Hybrid Systems & Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of major hybrid and battery energy storage projects. You will support the full lifecycle-from design and specification through to construction, commissioning and early operations.
Working closely with engineering, construction and grid connection teams, you will ensure the seamless integration of hybrid systems and the successful delivery of projects on time, on budget and in line with technical and grid compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating planning, design, supply, construction and commissioning activities for hybrid and renewable energy projects.
Providing technical input into hybrid system and stand‑alone battery design and integration strategies.
Ensuring compliance with grid codes, technical standards and safety regulations.
Collaborating with internal engineering, construction and operations teams to optimise system performance.
Managing relationships with EPC contractors, OEMs and regulators to support smooth project delivery.
Reviewing and developing commissioning procedures, test plans and validation protocols.
Supporting troubleshooting during commissioning and early operations.
Preparing detailed commissioning and handover documentation.
Contributing to connection strategy, commissioning and stakeholder engagement for international projects.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience delivering or commissioning renewable energy assets (hybrid systems highly regarded).
Strong understanding of solar, wind and battery storage technologies.
Knowledge of grid compliance, performance testing and commissioning processes.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Experience with SCADA, communication networks and power systems analysis tools.
Ability to work independently with a mix of remote and site-based activities.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Highly desirable:
Experience with power system modelling tools such as PSS/e, PSCAD or PowerFactory.
